Joseph Chen Headshot.jpg

Hello

I specialize in obsessive compulsive tendencies/anxiety, longstanding depression, pornography/sexual addiction, couples counseling, anger management, and men's issues.  Additionally, I work with addictions, trauma, life transitions, relationships, cultural adjustment/immigration, leadership development, and interpersonal skills.  I'm particularly drawn to those who feel stuck and feel that they are unable to change themselves or their situation.

In my work with clients, I believe that a strong understanding of the causes of unhealthy emotional and behavioral patterns are the first part of treatment.  Developing the skills and courage to break these old patterns is the second part.  I help clients accomplish their goals through a combination of examining how family experiences influence current life patterns, and how these current patterns get in the way of a healthy lifestyle.
